Box score.  The Cubs reportedly forgo BP today, in this their 100th game of the season, trying to break up the recent skid… but to no avail.  They drop yet another much-less-than-impressive game on the road, and the Brewers are now a single game back, with the Cardinals just a pair back, in the Central.

Marquis wasn’t awful, giving up 3 runs through 6 innings, 5 hits, 2 walks, and 3 Ks.  Our relievers pitched us right out of it, and the Cubs’ errors certainly didn’t help.  Marshall gave up two runs in 2/3 of an inning in the 7th, including a run on a wild pitch and a home run from Orlando Hudson.  Kevin Hart gave up 2 doubles, 3 walks, a hit batter, and 4 runs in 2/3 in the 8th.  Hart has had an extremely tough time in the majors this year.

Aramis Watch: does get on with a walk, and hit a couple hard, but posted another 0-fer, and is now 1 for his last 28.  Nice to see one bright spot: Daryle Ward produce a little bit, knocking a pinch-hit homer in the 8th.  One more road game in Phoenix tomorrow, and then it’s home to face the Fish.
